A business operating system for teams of people and AI
Right now, everything comes back to you.
The Tempo WaySM puts one owner on every seat and AI teammates in every department, and gives your company a rhythm that doesn't depend on you remembering to run it.
Every question routes through you, so the work waits on you.
Live masterclass with Jason SmylieThursday, Nov 19, 11:30 AM PT on Zoom
The five
Fix five things before AI can help.
AI doesn't fix a company. It speeds up whatever's already there. Each fix is one letter of the Tempo Way.
-
Team
The right team in place, with one owner on every seat and AI teammates working inside every department.
The mistake it fixesBuilding around the team you have, not the team you need
-
Every Week
One leadership meeting a week, the Weekly Tempo, plus a reset every quarter and every year.
The mistake it fixesStarting things you never come back to
-
Measure
Your results, plus the numbers that drive them, every Monday. Everyone on the team owns a number.
The mistake it fixesGuessing instead of measuring
-
Plan
Long range, mid range, and short range, written in one Game Plan that everyone knows.
The mistake it fixesKeeping the plan in your head
-
Operate
Write it, train it, then automate it, one page per process in your Ops Manual.
The mistake it fixesAutomating a mess
Team, every week: measure, plan, operate.
Every week, every quarter, every year
Fixes stick when they run on a beat.
Knowing what to do usually isn't the problem. Nobody holding you to it is. So the Tempo Way runs on one rhythm, and the work keeps getting checked.
At Capriotti's we meet every week. Same meeting, same time, same agenda. Consistency drives results.

Who built it
Jason Smylie
President and Owner, Capriotti's Sandwich Shop and Wing Zone
I started as a software engineer, became a Capriotti's franchisee, and worked the counter in our restaurants. In 2008 we bought the company. As an owner I served as CIO and CMO, and today I'm President and Owner of Capriotti's Sandwich Shop and Wing Zone, and a co-founder of Fantasy Claw Arcade. What I teach is my own approach, inspired by the systems that helped grow Capriotti's.
